FAQ

Everything in one place

Every puppy on this site is $900. That includes age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, a pre-adoption vet check, health records, our written health guarantee, a starter pack of the food your puppy is already eating, and ongoing support from us after your puppy settles in.

It is coat only — temperament and size are the same. Short haired (smooth) dachshunds need almost no grooming beyond a weekly brush. Long haired dachshunds have silky feathering on the ears, chest, legs and tail and need brushing two or three times a week to stay tangle-free.

Our puppies are miniature dachshunds and typically mature at about 9 to 12 pounds and 5 to 6 inches at the shoulder. Final size depends on the individual puppy, and we will give you our honest estimate for the puppy you are interested in.

Yes. Each puppy is vaccinated and dewormed on a schedule appropriate for their age, and is examined by a licensed veterinarian before adoption. You receive the records with your puppy so your own vet can pick up the schedule from there.

Message us with the puppy you are interested in and a few lines about your home. Once we agree the puppy is a good fit, you sign the sales agreement and pay either the full amount (for shipping) or the $475 non-refundable deposit (for in-person pickup), with the balance due at pickup.

Yes. We ship through a reputable pet transport service and you receive tracking details. Shipping to your nearest airport is an extra $250, and door-to-door delivery to your address is an extra $300. In-person pickup is always free.

Apple Pay, Zelle, CashApp, Chime, e-Transfer (Canada only) and wire transfer. The full adoption fee is due before your puppy is delivered, whether by shipping or pickup.

Yes. You have seven days to have your puppy examined by your own licensed vet, and we cover hereditary hip dysplasia, L-2 HGA and hereditary cataracts for the puppy’s lifetime. Communicable disease diagnosed within fourteen days is also covered. The full terms are on our sales agreement page.

Generally yes, with supervision. Dachshunds are sociable and bond closely with their family. Because of their long back, children need to be taught to support the chest and hindquarters when lifting, and to never let the puppy jump down from furniture.

Two short walks a day plus play in the house is enough for most adult miniature dachshunds. Puppies need much less — short bursts of play and plenty of sleep. Avoid stairs and jumping off furniture while the puppy is growing.

Open the available puppies page, pick the puppy you like and use the inquire button on their card, or email us with their name. Tell us a few lines about your household and we will take it from there.

No. The first message can be short. We only need full details once you are ready to sign the sales agreement and reserve a puppy.
